Session of the World Urban Forum,
03 - 07 November 2008, Nanjing,
China:
The
(WUF4)
will be hosted by the Government of China and will be
held in the city of Nanjing
from 03-07 November 2008 under the theme 'Harmonious
Urbanization: The Challenge of Balanced Territorial
Development'.

The General Assembly will convene a High-Level
Meeting (HLM) on 10-11 June 2008 to undertake a
comprehensive review of progress achieved in
realizing the 2001 Declaration of Commitment of
HIV/AIDS and the 2006 Political Declaration on
HIV/AIDS, as well as to promote continued
engagement of leaders in a comprehensive
response to AIDS.

information on the HLM and the Civil Society
Hearing as well as two different forms: a
registration form for those organizations in
consultative status with ECOSOC; and an
accreditation form for non-ECOSOC accredited
organizations wishing to attend the high-level

We are pleased that Rima Salah, who
recently served as Deputy Executive Director of
the UN Children's Fund, has been appointed as the new
Deputy Special Representative in the UN Mission in
the CAR and Chad, which was set up last year
by the Security Council to bolster security in the
two countries, which also board Darfur. 14

Executive Director named - Sr. Denise Boyle, FMDM
of Franciscans International on 1 Mar, 2008.
Sr. Denise is an Irish Franciscan religious sister
bringing 30 years of experience in education,
